Many women have chronicled their natural hair journey, from the day of their transition from relaxer to natural afro, or choosing the balsy BIG CHOP! It’s been part of the natural tradition to trial different products for our hair, to see which product recipe will work best for the look we are achieving. Most of us measure our growth, study our curl pattern, and develop hair styles which will compliment our style aesthetic. In honor of this tradition, I have created a line of jewels that I have wanted to create for some time now, locaversary loc jewels. The motivation for this is two-fold. It can be purchased to celebrate your locaversary, or your actual birthday. Here is the breakdown of color and month:
January- Garnet
February- Amethyst
March- Aquamarine
April- Diamond
May- Emerald
June-Pearl
July- Ruby
August- Peridot
September- Sapphire
October- Opal/Tourmaline
November- Citrine
December- Topaz

I'm currently working on two collections at the same time! I certainly wasn't planning on creating them simultaneously, but one collection arose organically through a photoshoot that I happened to send larger loc jewelry to fit the model who had larger locs. My cousin has beautiful, larger locs and since there were so many like her who had them, I thought it necessary to create a collection solely for them. Thus, the Zenith Collection was born. However, previous to that, I was already working on perfecting the loc jewelry for the Locaversary Collection. This has been a challenge because it took awhile to create the jewel that would be "just right" and fit a mass amount of loc-wearers. I needed the colors and stones to be easily accessible due to the influx of demand it may present. I hate for people to have to wait too long for their jewelry and so I wanted to create something with stones that were relatively easy to find, yet still exuding my classy aesthetic. All in all, I think I'm winding it up with some good options, perhaps two, one more expensive than the other, as well as two different styling options: the dangle, and the wrap-around. So, stay tuned for some intriguing loc jewelry ahead!

On the eve of Loc Appreciation Day 2015, I debut my new collection, the Summer 2015 Renaissance Collection! This collection was named after the artists, writers, leaders and venues which rose to prominence in that era, as well as beyond. Just as that day and time yielded a powerful movement of African-American culture in Harlem, my collection explodes with pops of color, neon brights, chains, tassels and more!
Â
I am so excited about this collection because I was able to combine what I've done in past collections in a new and unique way, while birthing new ideas, and allowing my creativity to flow. This collection consists of not only the Loc Jewelry, but also the new Gemstone Hairties, made with genuine semi-precious gems which are able to be tied over and over to adorn updos, wear as ponytail holders, or wear as headbands on multiple sides for people wearing naturally curly hair, 'fros, locs, twists, or braids.
Â
The Renaissance Collection possesses hairties and loc jewelry with a treasure chest of new stones being used such as Ethiopian brass, Watermelon Tourmaline, and Fluorescent River Shell beads. This dreadlock jewelry is meant to be fun, versatile and stylish. It is to be worn for special days with a certain outfit, and everyday use depending upon the jewel. Some jewels are long and bold, which can be worn as updo's and tucked along the side, or left to hang down along your locs. Others are smaller and more subtle, yet pack a big punch due to the color. There are a few new Sisterlock jewels in the bunch, as well as Two-in-Ones, Sets and new chain jewels. The newest feature of this collection are the myriad of brightly-colored tassels, which is on trend, and chains linking one jewel to another. With these features, along with the mix of gemstones in the hairties, you have a lovely, coherent mix of hair jewelry. I hope you enjoy wearing these jewels just as much as I had fun making them.

Tiffany

I'm so looking forward to participating in this years' Living No Lye Tour, hosted by Team Natural, for the Dallas event celebrating the International Natural Hair Meetup Day! It's going to be a festive day of shopping, celebrating, and meeting other natural women who are embracing their natural beauty. This event will be hosted in over 50 cities and 4 continents, and I'm so honored to be a part of it. I'll be vending at the event and selling my loc jewelry, natural hair mists, and hair ties. It will be a busy day from start to finish!
Hope to see you there,
XO,

I have been thinking and dreaming of creating loc jewels for natural brides for some time now. With the busyness of my schedule, it has been placed on the backburner of my mind. There are so many beautiful, naturals who are getting married every day, and I wanted to provide a few options, not only for those who wear locs, but those who do not wear locs. Those who may be transitioning or wear naturally curly hair, afro's, braids, and protective styles to have another option to consider since they've embraced their new look!Â
As you'll see in the photos, or view the new collection Bridal Collection, this is just the beginning of jewels I've created in this grouping. I plan to add many more as time progresses, however at least this is starting to come to fruition! Look for sets, his-and-her jewels, and ponytail holders to mesh into creative updo's for those who do not sport locs.

I'm was so glad to contribute to this past weekends' "Kids With Locs In The Park", led by Eleasha Sledge of Loc Livin'. Her vision was to unite children with locs and their parents to allow them to come together and be celebrate their natural beauty. For this occasion, I was able to sponsor the event by providing loc jewelry for the children. With a planned venue every third Saturday of the month, at Piedmont Park in Atlanta, I'm sure there will be many more children who will grow in their natural awareness.

The newest addition to the loc jewel family are my Natural Hair Mists! The Natural Hair Mists are scented leave-in conditioners with various essential oils specific to each bottle. They originated from a desire to keep my locs smelling fresh after working in a nursing home all day and staying fit at the gym. It was necessary for me to have something light and fragrant, yet nourishing for my locs. The first one I created was Tranquility, which is a Peppermint-Rosemary blend, then came Paradise, with Ylang-ylang and Vanilla. Then I had to create Bloom, Lemongrass-Geranium blend and so more and more came. I can't seem to do anything where I create one or two of something. Once I start something, I'm always doing one or two multiplied times 70!Â
As the blends progressed, I wanted to create something unique for the men! So I created Outdoors, sandalwood-patchouli blend and Early Rain, Neroli and Myrrh and several others. These blends are all-natural, organic and have Moroccan Argan Oil, Jojoba, Avocado and Tea Tree oil as well. These oils have many benefits for your hair: they act as an anti-fungal agent, disinfectant, emollient, and stop hair loss. Each bottle has special features and the essential oils used provide a benefit which facilitates the growth and health of your hair.
Go ahead and sample a bottle or two! They come in two sizes, 4 oz and 8 oz. I guarantee you won't be disappointed.

Tiffany

Finally, the Spring-Summer 2015 Photo shoot is underway and we were able to enlist a new model, Kellie Stewart, who won Miss Texas Teen USA in 2014! She was a pleasure to work with along with our new photographer, Daylon Walton, www.daylon.us, and Mary Yingyod, who modeled in the previous shoot. We used my aunt's lovely home as the set which had many room options, such as the meditation room, library, back porch and great room. It was somewhat of a rainy day, so we would have to reserve the outside life-shots for another day. It was so much fun, and there was so much jewelry to match up with the appropriate outfits. I learned a great deal of things during this shoot which will enable me to prepare even more for next time. Look forward to fab photos from this collection, I Drool For Druzy.

It's that time again, its getting busier and busier! Time to share that special time with family and friends while preparing for the next season's line of jewels! The Spring Collection proves to be more diverse than the first collection, with integration of divers chains, while still holding true to the druzy stone. The next collection, I Drool For Druzy, will incorporate options of minimalist jewelry, chunky styles, and contemporary looks to satisfy everyone. I'm anticipating the day when I can debut the collection. Stay tuned!
